mypurmist ultrapure sterile water, which is available in convenient 20 pack of 30ml ampules can be purchased either on our website or at select retailers. All Target stores and Amazon will carry mypurmist ultrapure sterile water. mypurmist uses only 30ml of water to generate 30 minutes (2 sessions) of 100% natural therapeutic mist that effectively is germ free, allergen free, irritant free, and pollutant free. This gives you the ultrapure advantage, which is only available with mypurmist free. Do not use any other water in mypurmist free.

You can use mypurmist ultrapure sterile water refills even in mypurmist handheld (plug-in). However, you may also use distilled water.

Using any additives in the water reservoir, any other liquid or water with minerals (e.g. bottled, purified or boiled water) will damage the device and will void the warranty.

*Please be aware that some brands of water may have misleading labels on the packaging. Bottles with "made out of vapor distilled water" or "vapor distilled water and electrolytes for taste" may not contain distilled water made for use with small appliances. For example, Glaceau Smartwater has been purified; however, electrolytes and minerals were added to enhance its taste, which makes it unusable with mypurmist. Please read the label and make sure that you DO NOT see any of the following: Calcium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride, Potassium Bicarborate, Electrolyte Sources (Electrolytes added for taste) or any other minerals.

mypurmist ScentPad

mypurmist ScentPad should fit snugly on your mypurmist device. On mypurmist handheld (plug-in) steam inhaler, the ScentPad is inserted into the air holes on the back of the device - insert the top pins first on the device and then firmly insert the bottom pins. On mypurmist free cordless ultrapure steam inhaler, the ScentPad is inserted in the air holes under the mask and should fit snugly very easily.

If you do not see oil leaving the reservoir after pressing the blister a couple of times, then press all corners on the reservoir to make sure the blister is properly pierced. The natural Eucalyptus and Peppermint essential oil will release soothing aromatic vapors for non-medicated comfort and a peaceful night's rest.

One reservoir may be used multiple times in the course of a day. As the oil evaporates, the aroma will become more faint toward the end of the day.

mypurmist ScentPad uses 100% Beta Carotene to give the essential oil the deep yellow color. Beta Carotine is a strongly colored red-orange pigment abundant in plants and fruits. It is the substance in carrots, pumpkins, and sweet potatoes that colors them orange.

Currently we have a Eucalyptus & Peppermint ScentPad (50% Eucalyptus & 50% Peppermint; double distilled essential oils). mypurmist ScentPad was specifically designed to work effectively with the steam from mypurmist to release soothing aromatic Eucalyptus and fresh Peppermint vapors for non-medicated comfort and a peaceful night's rest. At this time there are no other oils available.

mypurmist ScentPad uses the highest quality double distilled essential oils sourced from Asia. The only ingredients used are 99.9% essential oils in equal amounts of Eucalyptus Globulus and Peppermint (Mentha Arvensis) oils. The last 0.1% is 100% pure and natural beta carotene color to facilitate seeing the oil. The color is not transmitted beyond the pad so only the essential oils reach you.  Yes! mypurmist free is cordless and can be used anywhere, and charged in the car. Charging would require a 12V to 110V inverter of 150 Watt capacity available at many retailers. There are several products meeting this specification. We have successfully tested "Foval 150W 3.1A Dual USB.?

mypurmist handheld (plug-in) requires using a 12V to 120V inverter of 100 Watt capacity or higher available at many retailers.  There are several products meeting this specification. We have successfully tested "Bestek 150w dual usb 3.1a." Do not use mypurmist while driving, only as a passenger.

There is no presence of boiling water in mypurmist. That is why you can turn the device upside down and not a drop of hot water will come out. This is the only steam inhaler where this is possible. It is made possible due to the patented Capillary Force Vaporizer (CFV) technology. This is one of the many reasons mypurmist is the world's most advanced steam inhaler.

mypurmist has multiple safety features built into the device. Utilizing a powerful microprocessor to monitor and adjust/stop the device as needed in order to ensure that the device provides instant fine germ-free mist at a comfortable temperature between 100-115 F with no boiling water. When mypurmist dries itself after use - this occurs above the heater so that no germs can grow inside the unit. It is the reason why it is critical to let the drying cycle run its course after each session. mypurmist provides symptomatic relief of allergies by washing away irritants and allergens with regular use.  For specific allergies, please consult a healthcare professional.

Humidifiers will create humidity in the entire room. Normal recommendation is to keep the room approximately 40% humid. High humidity causes mold in the room that can make your symptoms even worse. However, mypurmist is directed humidity, so it will only provide humidity where you need it and will not humidify the room. This can in turn help the inflammation and congestion that you may have because of mold allergies.

mypurmist provides directed humidification and will effectively rinse out the nasal passage. By removing an irritant quickly from the nasal passage, you will prevent congestion caused by inflammation of the passages. Using mypurmist as quickly as possible right after exposure to an irritant, including dust, is the best way to avoid inflammation and congestion.

We know that allergies or sinus infections affect the sense of smell. mypurmist will improve the symptoms of congestion due to allergies and sinus infections that may also improve the sense of smell.

If you are very congested, you may feel more stuffy after using mypurmist. This is normal as the steam is working its way in. Regular use (10-15 minutes in the morning and at night before bedtime) is highly recommended to promote normal breathing.

How to use mypurmist

You can use mypurmist as often, or as long as you like, since it is 100% natural. A full water reservoir provides approximately 30 minutes of use. Many patients will use mypurmist for 15 minutes just before sleeping for more restful sleep. For most optimal results we recommend using mypurmist once in the morning and once before bed for 10-15 minutes each. Best is for you to try different durations to see what is most optimal for you. Generally speaking using mypurmist more often will provide you the consistent benefits of humidification.

The device will always turn off on its own if you forget to turn off mypurmist. First, the mypurmist device will keep running till all the water in the device is used up after which it will go into an automatic drying cycle for 10 minutes.

NOTE: mypurmist handheld (plug-in) users - Do not unplug the unit prior to the completion of the drying cycle so as to prevent internal moisture from accumulating.

Simply press the power ON/OFF button and set the device aside. The red light will not turn on, but the drying cycle will be triggered and the unit will shut itself off automatically once it's dry. If you want to continue your session, just press the power ON button again and enjoy the steam. You do not need to wait for the 10-minute drying cycle to complete. Simply press the power ON button when you are ready! It's that easy!

The fan continues to run for 10 minutes to dry the inside of the mypurmist unit. This keeps the inside of the unit dry.

Yes, you can leave the water in the reservoir. If you do not plan to use mypurmist for two weeks and want to store it, then please have the device continue to run till all of the water in the device is used up. For mypurmist handheld (plug-in), you can also just empty out the reservoir by pouring the water out.

A red light is an indicator for "water out". To continue using mypurmist, simply add more water and press the ON button. Please see the appropriate user manual for specifics.

No, do not unplug the mypurmist handheld (plug-in) device while it is running. It is essential to let the device run the steam cycle and then run the full drying cycle before being unplugged.

You can store the unit in its storage bag when it is not being used often. Make sure to store in a safe place where it won't be damaged. It's best to store the unit after all the water is used.

Use the product where you can comfortably hold the device. You can be lying down at a slight angle (with a pillow or two).

The small amount of water in the reservoir after 20-25 min of use is normal. We do not want the unit to go completely dry - so we have the machine shut off after approximately 25 min of use.  The water from the reservoir will go through the heater the next time you use it and make the steam/mist germ free. So there is no risk in leaving the water in the reservoir. Only if you plan on not using mypurmist for two weeks, then we recommend you empty the reservoir before you store it away.

 

Typically 1 to 1.5 oz of distilled water is all that you need for a full cycle of fine soothing steam.

One refill of mypurmist Ultrapure Sterile Water (30 mL) is all that you need for 30 minutes of use (2 sessions). mypurmist Ultrapure Sterile Water is available in a convenient 20 pack of 30ml refills. These refills are easy to carry - even on an airplane. This allows you to use mypurmist free cordless ultrapure literally anywhere, anytime - indoors or outdoors!

No. Saline and many essential oils contain minerals that will damage the device and void the warranty.

Yes, mypurmist can be used anywhere in the world. You may need to purchase a standard travel adapter for your charger (if you are using mypurmist free cordless) or for your power cord (if you are using mypurmist handheld (plug-in)).

No, you cannot use mypurmist free when it is charging. It takes approx. 2 hours to charge mypurmist free, after which you have the freedom to use it anywhere, anytime.

Yes, please go to the Shop to choose your accessories. Please make sure you select the correct product, as the accessories (mask, scentpad, hands-free, charger) are different for the two different products. When you go to the Shop, first filter by product (inhaler) at the very top to ensure the correct accessories are ordered.

Once a battery is fully charged, it provides ~30 minutes of use (2 sessions), which is consistent with the use of 1 refill of ultrapure sterile water. When the battery is fully charged, you will see a green light at the top of the lower button. You can also use the device even if it is not fully charged. The amount of time will vary based on extent of the charge. When turned on, the battery level indicator is the bottom button. See instruction manual for further details.

The battery for mypurmist free should last for several years. Please register your product via the Bluetooth app or on our website www.mypurmist.com, and this will extend your warranty to 2 years. We will replace or repair the device if anything happens during this period (including the battery). The battery is not a user serviceable part. The device would need to be sent in for a repair. Please contact our customer service for more information.

The HEPA filter was designed to last the lifetime of the device, but can be replaced under extenuating circumstances, e.g. use of mypurmist free in a very polluted environment, and in the HEPA mode only for very extended time. Please contact our customer service for more information.

Cleaning

We suggest wiping down the outside of the product with a dry cloth before storing for longer periods of time. If the outside of your mypurmist gets dirty, use a warm damp cloth dipped in soapy water to gently wipe the outside of the unit. Do not submerge your mypurmist in water. To prevent germs from spreading, wipe masks down with warm soapy water and dry before storing. We recommend that everyone that uses mypurmist have his or her own mask. Be sure to drain all of the water out of your mypurmist and wait until it has run through the automatic drying cycle before storing. This helps to prevent mold growth on the inside of the unit.

No, there is no cleaning required after every use.  Just be sure to let the fan run until it shuts off after every use till the inside of the unit dries out.  The only thing you should clean is the mask, which should be hand-washed with warm water and soap.

No. Do not put the unit in water or under running water at any time.

Bluetooth and mobile app

Bluetooth allows you to connect with our mobile mypurmist app. Once you pair the device with your phone, you are able to track your progress, frequency of usage, average daily minutes, and how you are feeling on daily basis after using mypurmist free. Utilizing the Bluetooth capability, will help you optimize your mypurmist usage (steam therapy sessions), it will help you achieve better results, and get the most optimal symptomatic relief. You can also refer mypurmist to your friends while within the app, order supplies and track your water refill usage.

No, all data collected will be used by mypurmist only.

Absolutely, using the mobile app and Bluetooth capability is merely an added feature. It's not required for use of the device itself.

While using your smartphone, go to Apple App Store or Google Play store to download the free mypurmist mobile app.

Once you download the app, find it on your smartphone and tap the icon to open it. Tap the "Join MyPurMist" button. Fill out your information, and check the Accept Terms and Conditions box. Tap the "Create New Account" button Follow the Prompts (tap the "Let's go button") Once you tap "Save Your Conditions" button, you are all set and ready to connect your mypurmist free and start using the device.

Make sure your mypurmist free is plugged in (in charging mode), and that the Bluetooth feature is enabled on your smartphone. Open the mypurmist mobile app on your phone. Swipe up on your dashboard and then tap the blue + button ("Click + to connect the device"). You will see the device name and ID number. Simply tap anywhere on the device name. Next, you will see a screen with "Device Information".  You are all set!

Please force quit your app, and open it again. This should resolve your issue.

Make sure you have enabled Notifications for the mypurmist app on your mobile phone. To enable Notifications on an iOS device; Go to Settings > Notifications. Find the mypurmist app and tap on the Allow Notifications" slider. When enabled - it will turn green. To enable Notifications on an Android device; Go to Apps > Settings > More. Tap Application Manager > Downloaded. Find the mypurmist app and select or clear the check box next to "Show notifications to enable or disable push notifications."

Force quit your mypurmist app. Go to your phone's settings, and find the mypurmist app. Disable the notifications for the app, and then re-enable them. This should resolve the issue.

Troubleshooting

Your device is working properly. Each time after the device is turned OFF, a fan will run for 10 min to dry all the internal parts of the device. The red light will only come on if the water needs to be refilled. Whether your session is 10, 15, or 25 minutes long the fan will always dry the device after you are finished. mypurmist was designed to make your steaming experience convenient and seamlessly integrated into your life!

Please make sure the power cord is properly inserted into the white power supply box on one end and is in a working outlet in the other end. Do you see a green light on the power supply box?  The steady red light is an indicator for water out. However, at times a red light may come prematurely. In such cases the water level may need to be adjusted (add water) or the device needs to be reset. Do not refrigerate the water used in the device.

 Step 1: Make sure you do not refrigerate the water used in the device. Check to make sure you put enough water in. Wait 30 seconds and turn on the unit again.

Step 2: If the red light comes on again within few minutes please reset the device by unplugging and re-plugging it and quickly pressing the ON button. You do not have to wait for the fan to stop (which is 10 min) before trying to turn it on again. The flashing red light means that you will have to wait 30 seconds for the unit to come back on, as it's cooling down. This is the top light.

Please plug in the charger and charge the device. The device will not work while it is charging.

Looks like the device may have been overfilled. Turn the device upside down over a sink and drain out all the water that may have escaped to the base of the device. Then wait a few minutes, make sure you put in mypurmist ultrapure sterile water (do not overfill), and turn the device on.

Your mypurmist free device needs to be charged. It will take ~2 hours to charge the device fully. The red light will turn to green when fully charged.

The mypurmist free is out of water. Even though you may tilt the device and see some water in the window, it is time to refill the device with ultrapure sterile water. Take one refill of 30 mL of ultrapure sterile water (do not use any other water), twist off the top, insert spout in the water fill port. Squeeze repeatedly until empty.

This is a rare occurrence that may happen initially or after a long period of no use as the water needs to soak in. We have designed the product so that the water feeding mechanism lasts for a long time - reason we also offer a 2 year warranty when you register the device. However, this water feeding mechanism sometimes needs to be primed initially or after a long time in storage.  In such cases leave the water in the device for 2 hours or preferably overnight. As a precaution and to ensure that the water system is primed at all times, make sure that you always have water in the device while it's not in use. If the device shows red light during subsequent uses, simply wait a few seconds for the light to turn off and turn the device back on, and it should start working again.
